I came across an old super8 film of my father, who passed away shortly after in 1978, and of whom I have scant memories. The footage captures moments with my parents, my brother, and me, along with the presence of my 3 cousins, who we were very close. The clip ends with a “Filmriss” a German term that translates to an unconscious “film gap” or “blackout” – a missing piece in our recollection of the time when our father passed away.
